What is Brain Damaged?
Brain Damaged is an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting for men only, that takes place every Friday night at 8:00 PM at the Yorkfield Presbyterian Church in Elmhurst, Illinois. The meeting usually lasts between an hour and an hour and a half. The meeting alternates between topics and speakers and also offers an opportunity for discussion regarding anything that may be bothering one's sobriety. We welcome folks who have never before attended an AA meeting, as well as guys who have over 50 years of sobriety, and everyone in between!
The atmosphere of the meeting is somewhat raucous with a tremendous focus on sobriety. Stuff that does not have to do with sobriety, excuses, bullshit, dishonesty and the like are usually pointed out instantly and cast aside so we can get on with the business of dealing with being sober. We also host a number of fellowship opportunities during the year such as an annual retreat in January and bowling and baseball events.
We encourage you to come to our meeting some Friday night and learn firsthand what all of the commotion is about!
